Sign up for AAA with Amanda Saturday October 24th at 12pm to benefit the Black Mama’s Bail Out Action project through Southerners on New Ground (SONG).

SONG envisions a sustainable South that embodies the best of its freedom traditions and works towards the transformation of our economic, social, spiritual, and political relationships.

Over the past four years, Black Mama’s Bail Out Action has aimed to protect our families, to intervene on the money bail system, and to contribute to the long legacy of breaking down barriers. Black mothers, broadly defined as Black caregivers of all genders, hold and nurture our communities. Money bail and pretrial detention destabilize families and create long lasting ripple effects. We also know that when Black mothers are kidnapped by the criminal legal system, our communities suffer. These are our friends, neighbors, and loved ones.

Join us in helping bring our loved ones home by raising funds to bail Black Mamas/Caregivers out of the Durham County Jail. The more money we raise, the more mamas we can bail out! The concern of COVID spread in the jail only puts additional pressure on to get folks home.
